"He's the one man I've never forgotten."

When grad student Jackson Greene starts his job as a college teaching assistant, the last person he expects to work for is the man who broke his heart six years ago. Jackson has moved on since then. Of course he has. But when he looks into the older man's eyes, all the familiar pain and desire rush back in.

"It's wrong for me to want him so much."

Visiting professor Matthew Smith has never forgotten the shame of how he ended their previous affair, nor has he recovered from the guilt of daring to love a student. Jackson is still as vibrant and beautiful as he was when Matt first fell in love with him. Now they're peers. Colleagues. And they work together just as well as they always used to - better, even. Could there be more?

They both know that mere friendship isn't enough to heal their wounds, but a love affair is just as illicit now as it was then. The threat of scandal means that both of their careers are on the line - but is a second chance at happiness worth the risk of exposure?

Integrity is a novella of approximately 40,000 words. It is a stand alone book with no cliffhanger and ends with a HEA.

A broken heart is a hard thing to heal, and when Matt stumbles into Jackson's life again, Jackson can't decide if he's still furious or wants his old lover and former teacher back.
Matt risked his career for Jackson once before. Unexpectedly, Jackson is now his TA, and all the feelings he'd been denying himself come back, threatening his career and possible tenure at the university.
Their relationship, though bumpy, is sweet, and what's not to love about a forbidden liaison? Great, short read with intellect and some deep thoughts about English literature.
Smart with great promise, Jackson, 25, is going for his PHD. He'll be a TA, teaching assistant, for a famous professor. When he walks into the classroom, it's a different professor, Matt, 33, one he knows too well. They had a past. These two men are thrown into each other's path again, and it seems destiny has taken over. After starting out trying to stay apart, they give in to their feelings. Imagine Matt's surprise that Jackson has been with no one else and is still a virgin. They are a perfect fit in all ways, and their sexy times are steamy and loving. When Jackson gets his PHD, he will be going to Oxford. Matt will be tenured at Rose State. Questions will it work out? Can they survive the distance? Should they?
When Jackson's precious Gran has a heart attack, Matt is by his side, but later things change. It seems their history is repeating itself. I liked this story; the emotions and caring; the well written tale of two destined souls.
Great epilogue. ENJOY !
So, teacher/student is a mix that I really enjoy, and it's why I borrowed this book. I had a crush on a teacher when I was in high school, so probably that's why.

This book didn't quite play out the way I expected. I think I expected it to be more about enjoying the forbidden aspect of the relationship, the hiding, not getting caught. That's one way this story plays out a lot and I definitely enjoy it when it does, don't get me wrong. But there was something really believably realistic about Matt and Jackson's relationship, about the consequences of it, the ethical and maybe even moral struggle that Matt went through first, when Jackson pursued him, and then later when the two realize they have unfinished business and the stakes are even higher than they were in the first place. You see the high school relationship a little bit, mostly in well timed flashbacks (normally, I'm not a flashback lover, but in this case I think you see just enough at just the right time that it's relatively seamless; sort of a 'history repeats' kind of thing) and it gets a little explicit in the most delightful way. You'd have expected Matt to be the aggressor, as that's the typical fare--older man knows what he wants, initiates the younger man, etc. Turning it around was an excellent choice, at least for me, because I wish I had Jackson's luck when I was in school and damn the consequences.

The sex throughout the book is great! It fit perfectly without throwing a wrench into the experience, which happens all the time in MM, but was still super hot. Kudos on that. I love me a steamy romance but finding one that's a good balance between character, plot, and titillation is a challenge.

The characters were complex and vivid. Jackson probably got more development than Matt but that's pretty much how it always goes with romance; Jackson is the star, for sure, but Matt's arc was still there. The ending was unbelievably sweet, and satisfying in a way I didn't realize I wanted. Times, they are a changin', and I'm really happy to see that reflected here. I won't give it away, because that would be cruel--even though you know this book has a HEA ending, cause Romance, it's a rare treat to get to this kind of ending in MM and it made me squee a little, privately, where no one could see me...

The only criticism I would level, and it's not worth giving up a star, is Jackson's grandmother, and to some extent a few of the other one-shot supporting characters. She wasn't critical to the enjoyment of the story, and her purpose was served, but I don't know, I just felt like her presence was a little bit thin until it very suddenly wasn't. Still, I get it--you have to pick a story or you end up with Moby Dick. Trevor also could have used something... else. In romance, there's this long running tradition where the two main characters only ever get physical with one another while they shun everyone else because, I don't know, most readers feel like one of them is cheating if they do it? But in the end it worked out fine, Jackson had his reasons and they make perfect sense. Maybe I just liked imagining them doing it. Speaking of Trevor, I kind of felt bad for him not getting his own sort of happy ending, like introducing a boyfriend or something? He'd probably make a good spin off character (are you watching, Mrs. Forester? D).

Overall, a very enjoyable, very sweet book that I would recommend to anyone who likes a complicated relationship and the lengths people might (and should) go to to make it work when it feels right. We all ought to have the kind of devotion Matt has to Jackson, and everyone should get to feel like they're the most important person to someone.
Matt and Jackson. They crossed boundaries when they first connected while Matt was a teacher and Jackson was a senior in high school. Trying to be the mature, "big picture" person, Matt broke it off and in doing so, broke two hearts. Six years later, Matt takes over a class for a professor who is on sabbatical and in walks his TA - Jackson.

This book is sweetly emotional. The reader learns about the prior relationship of the MCs through a series of flashback/memories. The writing is really tight. I love it when author's use precise language to paint a vivid picture for the readers, and then sprinkle funny dialogue throughout the story. Ex At one point, Jackson chastises Matt a bit and says, "It's not like I want you to propose to me with a flash mob in the middle of town....though, if you do, my guilty pleasure songs are all on my Facebook feed, so, do some research." This book is full of funny little exchanges like that between Jackson, his roommate Trevor, and Matt. I really appreciate that in a book.

The emotions of the characters were deeper than I expected for a little 2 hour romance. I'm really delighted that I found this gem, and I'm honestly surprised that there aren't already 100 FIVE STAR reviews. Sigh. Lord, I do love a happy ending! )
This was just wonderful, could not put it down. This was just so exciting, so romantic, sexy, lots of drama and tears of sadness, but ending with so much joy. Absolutely loved it, it's definitely a must read! Many Thanks, Honey Bee 🐝📚💙🎶
